GR8escape York

GR8escape York is a new and exciting live escape room experience. You and your playing partners have one hour in which to achieve your objective and escape. You will need to work as a team to search the whole room to locate various puzzles and clues and to work out how they get you closer to escaping.

GR8escape York games are live events and therefore we cannot accept refunds, cancellations or last minute reschedules once a booking is confirmed. If you want to reschedule your booking please email info@gr8escapeyork.co.uk and we will try to change your booking time.

No, all the puzzles and codes require only a good level of common sense, logic and a keen eye to complete. Do not take anything for granted in the room and remember to work as a team.

A team can consist of between 2-6 people. The more people that play the game the cheaper it works out for each player. However we recommend that at least 3 people play the game to give yourself a good chance of escaping.

The rooms have been designed to be competely safe and only contain everyday normal items. There are no major physical elements to any of the codes and puzzles. You are monitored by our staff at all times and you are free to leave the room at any time. All the rooms are a reasonable size and you should not find yourself in an enclosed space at any time.

The minimum age is 10 years old if accompanied with adults and 16 years for groups without adults. The main reason for an age limit is because of the complexity of the game as children under 10 may find the clues and puzzles confusing. There is no upper age limit, as the game has no physical demands.

Book your game by clicking on the "Book Now" link at the top of the page. You will be taken straight to our bookings page where you just follow the instructions to book your room. Alternately if you are in York for the day and decide you want to play you can give us a ring or email us for available slots. Please note we do not have the facility to accept payment cards or cheques if you turn up on the day.

At the moment the building we currently operate from does not have wheelchair access and you need to climb a set of stairs to reach our rooms. None of the tasks in the game require any major physical movement.

We are situated at 4a Colliergate in the middle of York city centre. The nearest public car parks are the Castle and Nunnery Lane car parks which are both within easy walking distance. All of York's park and ride drop of locations are also close. The main train station is around a 15 minutes walk.
